Return to the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra

Joined by violinist Sonoko Miriam Welde, and the Royal Choral Society, Oliver conducts a programme to include Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture, Bruch’s Violin Concerto No 1 and Beethoven’s Symphony No 9 at the Royal Festival Hall.
Music Director, International Opera Awards
For the second year, Oliver conducts at London’s Coliseum for the industry’s red carpet award ceremony, hosted by Petroc Trelawny, broadcast on BBC Radio 3. Singers performing include Camilla Tilling, Brindley Sherratt and Anush Hovhannisyan. The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Teresa Berganza.
Debut Recording with RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra
Baby Mine is a wonderful collection of lullabies from favourite childhood films. Performed by Irish soprano Máire Flavin and the RTÉ NSO, this recording is now available on Amazon. All artist royalties will go National Autism.
Helpmann Award Winner
Oliver’s debut with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra in concert with acclaimed soprano Julia Lezhneva, garnered rave reviews as well as the ‘Best Individual Classical Music Performance’ award at the Helpmann Awards. The concert was broadcast on ABC.
Southbank Sky Arts Award Nomination
Following world premiere performances of Tarik O’Regan’s Heart of Darkness at the Linbury Theatre, Covent Garden, Oliver attended the Sky Arts Awards at the Savoy, hosted by Melvyn Bragg. The production was nominated in the Opera category for Best New Production, alongside the Metropolitan Opera, English National Opera and Opéra de Lyon.
Oliver received excellent reviews conducting the National Theatre version of Candide, both at Iford and at the Cheltenham International Festival.
IMPERIAL COLLEGE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

As the recently appointed Director of the Blyth Centre for Music and Visual Arts at Imperial College London, Oliver assumed the Music Directorship of Imperial College Symphony Orchestra, performingMahler’s Symphony No 1 (The Titan) at Cadogan Hall, London
In 2018, Oliver was delighted to become Music Director of renowned Berkshire chamber choir, Cantorum. Placed fifth in Choir of the Year in 2014, the choir continues to build on a varied and exciting repertoire, most recently performing Bach’s St John Passion in Eton College Chapel to a capacity audience.
